the brief

Tripz are a Huddersfield based campervan and motorhome rental company who wanted to move away from using their current rental company to advertise their motorhomes and create there own rental booking system similar to the style of Air Bnb that could all be managed in-house in future and expand to other rental opportunities.

The requirements of the site were to make a user friendly website that made bookings enjoyable for the customer with a no nonsense checkout and booking system.

Our Approach

Custom build or theme development

After our initial meeting and getting all the relevant featured required for the website build we looked at the best solution for the project  and clients budget whether to go for a custom website build solution or develop a theme with as many of the features required as we could get and customise the extra features required, we researched lots of directory & listings themes using WordPress and Woocommerce as the CMS platform and both agreed working with a pre-made would be the most cost-effective solution for their requirements.

UX Design & wireframing

Creating a smooth user flow and seemless checkout experience was high priority on the clients needs, we worked on mapping the main features of the website out in our prototyping software, testing and tweaking till we had the best user experience possible and ensuring the best checkout experience possible, once the basic website layout was created we began looking at the design and features of the website creating lottie animations and vector images to capture the audiences interest and focus on the speed of the website by keeping file sizes down to a minimum, this went through several round of amends till the client was happy and ready to move on to the development of the website.

 

WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT& Build

With the initial theme having a basic list of features required such as listings and search functionality, we had worked out what features were needed in the wireframing stage and developed various custom solutions, such as part and deposit payments, additional add ons when creating a booking, automated reminder emailing system and developed the customer login area as per the exact requirements requested along with creating an affiliate program for past clients to recommend their friends and family and earn discount on future bookings.

Website testing

With lots of custom development on the website, we required various stages of user testing along the way making sure everything worked as should and resolving any issues along the way, once any minor issues had been resolved and the clients were happy we began to ask various members of the public to test the website out and find any bottlenecks and things that could be made better, we the recommendations in mind we made some final amends to help improve the user experience then it was time to launch the website.

Website launch

With the website ready to go live and final testing and amends completed it was time to launch the website, the client created a set of social media and email campaigns to let people know about them and soon enough the bookings started coming in.
