DD Salon Supplies is a wholesale retailer to the salon & beauty industry and approached us wanting to create a new and separate ecommerce store tot their previous magento built website and for the opening of their new Bradford based brick and mortar shop.
With an SKU of over 6000 products they needed a website that was robust and fast enough to manage a high volume of traffic flow while being user friendly and easy to navigate through with an amazing shopping experience.
The first step of the project was to gather the huge database of products and move from the current Magento website to a WordPress & Woocommerce store, this was a huge task ensuring all the products, descriptions, images and categories were matching to the original site.
Once we had the products moved to the new site the client wanted to create new categories and adding brands to make all products easy to navigate and find on their online store.
The client really wanted to focus heavily on the UX design of this project and making sure it had a great shopping experience for the customer with products and categories being easy to find with a fast and easy to use checkout process.
Working with the client along the way the design wireframe was created in Adobe XD ensuring the client was happy with the layout of the design tackling the obstacles of the huge product database we created a smooth and streamlined use flow for the website.
With the products moved onto the new WordPress store and the new categories created one of the issues the previous website had was the poor search and filter function helping users finding the right products quickly and easily. We developed a custom solution for the filter function and the different product variations making sure it was as easily as possible to find exactly what a customer was looking for and built the website to exact spec of the UX design we had created.
The website needed to be blazingly fast and able to handle huge surges of traffic to the website, we heavily optimised the website, keeping images and website pages to an optimal size for design and performance and throughly tested the search and checkout experience making sure it was as smooth and user friendly as possible.
After final testing and optimising the website ironing out any speed and user issues we found it was time to relaunch the new website, having already built up a huge email database we helped created a series of email marketing campaigns to help drive traffic and previous customers back tot new store.
The launch of the new store was a huge success and we continue to work with DD Salon supplies regularly.
